Here we encourage groups to come out for as little as 1 or 2 weeks and focus on a particular project. Church groups, nurses, builders and often a mixture of all walks of life come to Kenya or Sri Lanka with money they have raised and lots of enthusiasm to help a given project.

Formal Skills are not essential, and many groups for example, come to paint schools, buy new beds for clinics or toys for the orphans. There is an enormous amount people can contribute. Even a small group with a few hundred pounds can change and inspire lives very quickly.

Tell us about your group, including what special skills, if any, they have. We will suggest placements which you could benefit, and give you all the information you require to ensure you come well prepared.

KENYA PROJECTS FOR GROUPS

Coastal Mombasa town Primary School. Requires repairs, paint and computers.

South Mombasa Coast Children's home and Primary School combination placement. Classrooms, desks, walls all in desperate need of repair. Teaching aids also required.

Primary school. Rural Island. Lake Victoria. Rustic living, real bush school with no water or electric. This school needs pretty much everything!

Small children's home and special school for around 20 students living in slum set up. Children learning in sheds.

Nursery/ feeding centre close to Nairobi requires volunteers to help prepare food and manage small children. Needs everything!

Large Children's home. Rural Central Kenya. Beautiful  location. North of Nairobi. Clothing, shoes required for children. Kitchen equipment of any type. Re-painting of home.

Rural, isolated island clinic in Lake Victoria. Rustic living Medic clinic serving islanders. Drugs and medications would be a great start as this place has almost nothing but very basics.

SRI LANKA PROJECTS FOR GROUPS

Teach young children at day nursery or / and older children including monks at beach side school in Kosgoda. Teaching aids required.

Coastal marine Turtle conservation project on Sri Lankan beaches and hatchery volunteers needed. Building works required to repair Tsunami damage.

In March, a group of Business students from the university of Chicago went to one of our Nairobi homes and presented the children with useful gifts such as pencils and colouring books. They also painted many of the rooms and bought much needed furniture. With the pupils, they played games, shared experiences and helped them with their homework. Groups can come for as little as one week to change the lives of so many.
